[Elfsea] Bear pit vs. melee vs. regular tourney

You have to remember though that there are as many varied tourney formats as there are people with ideas out there.  One of my personal favorites is the Northkeep Speed tourney.  Combatants line up next to the field and file onto the field in pairs as soon as the previous fight ends.  The first round is fighters choice for 20-30 minutes, followed by a polearm only round, and recently they have added things like single sword or sword and buckler rounds as well.  At the end of the day the winner is the person who won the most fights.  They also give a prize out, that some of us covet nearly as much as the title, which is a Meat Tenderizer for the most fights fought.  This is just one example of an off the wall idea for a tourny that is a blast!  If you have an original idea run it by some of us and we can tell you what we think.  Heck come to practice and we can give your format a trial run!

I am trying to finalize an idea I have running through my head for an event, but I need the fighters of our Barony's help.
Can you please tell me what you like/hate about bear pits, melees, etc.
I always liked bear pits because it shows stamina of the fighter. I haven't been to but one or two melee events and didn't really pay attention too much.
So if you could tell me which you prefer and again, likes/dislikes.
Thank you
