I hold the apple in my hand away from my body. Haven't lost any digits
yet.

Very Nice!

So now helping her train for William Tell shoots with an apple on your
head is not as nerve-racking, huh?

Pyro competed in the Grand Assembly of Archers and won the first
competition of the day: the string shoot. Everyone started with a long
piece of string. They would shoot at a standard target and the marshals
would wrap your string around your arrows to determine the tightness of
the grouping. They would then cut off that much of the string. When you
ran out of string or missed the target with any arrow you were done. At
the end she had the longest piece of string (20" out of 5 ft).

She also shot in the Viking Theme shoot, the Ever a Champion shoot, the
Ladies shoot, and more. She came in second on the Yeoman or Lower shoot
with a total of 60 points versus 66 for the winner (Donna ap Dewi) and
51 for Catya of the Steppes. So the top three were women.
