You're welcome. I wish we could have done it outside, extra room for handling the blades would have definitely been better. Maybe another time.

Alaric

Subject: [Elfsea] Thank yous from MOC on Saturday

Many, many thanks to Don Alaric for his excellent class on Saturday
at Kingdom A & S on this history and evolution of the sword in Europe,
and to Duchess Conal for volunteering to help in the Ministry of Children area.
We had a small turnout for MOC but the kids had a great time, and learned some things
too. Thanks also to my daughter Anabella de Bard (Miranda) for her
research and presentation on the origins of St. Valentine's Day (it turns
out that Valentine's greetings are, in fact, period, although not the
preprinted kind of course). The youth boffer tournament was also lots of fun to watch,
and the kids also enjoyed playing Robin Hood and throwing snow into the pond
(you just never know what will be a hit with the kids). I'm afraid the crafts activities went
by the wayside due to the snow and youth boffer!!

I am still looking for volunteers to teach short courses or do activities in the MOC
area at Warlord, including one in court etiquette and behavior, and concerning various
awards and their meaning. I would also love to have a bard come and teach the children
some Ansteorran songs. If anyone has any other ideas for classes or activities at
Warlord, please let me or my deputy Katerine know. We have some ideas, of
course, but fresh ideas are always welcome, especially since I am reasonably
certain that there will not be any snow :)!
