[Elfsea] Scribal or Armorers/Leather Working Guilds

Regarding guilds or groups in Elfsea:

1)  If you want to use the "of Elfsea" name you need to ask the Baron & Baroness.  This means it would be an open group (ie, you can't not allow someone to show up because you don't like them, even if they're disruptive).  There is some limited paperwork associated with being a guild.
2) Please cc the A&S minister (Sara, she already replied on this list).
3) If you want to register a heraldic badge for your group in the SCA, there are specific requirements for that - please talk to the Herald (Genvieve) if you are interested in that.
4) If you just want to start a leather working group and see how it grows, there is no formal process.  As a courtsey, you tell the B&B in advance.  As anohter courtsey you let the MoAS know what happened. 
5) Please be careful.  Working heavy leather can be dangerous under the best of conditions.

I would be willing to do both, I just started doing charter scrolls and love it! I would just like to see more of the Barony participating. Leather work is my first love however and I am more than willing to host a guild at my place, and would welcome the opportunity to share my knowledge of armoring or any other leather projects anyone wants to do. So do we need to get with the Seneshal on starting these two guilds up?

I'm hip Jasper ... I need to get some period shoes done and would like to do some pouches for me and Genevieve.  Last person I know of doing stuff for scribal was Elspeth but dont know if anything has been done lately. I know Baroness Alys is pretty good at the scribal stuff too so we might want to talk to her about the scribal stuff.
