[Elfsea] BAM: What to Know

Sandy, east Texas pine forest. Slight slope to the land. Showers, laundry, and lavatories. A nice castle, lots of scenario type fighting - open field and attack/defend the fort. The fort is the same size as the GW fort, but it is made of concrete block. Some of the battles will have missile weapons. They are still under a burn ban, thus safety with cooking is a must. No open fires. It has become a mini-war with people arriving on Thursday and leaving Monday. Large contingent has been coming from Glenn Abhann on a regular basis. There may even be a group from the Outlands. There probably will be some equestrian activities. There is usually more than one party a night, with the Kingdom Middle Eastern Dance being the evening highlight. Most people camp, though not all. The major Baronies attending will have their pavilions placed so they can view the battles at the fort, the big "hall" tent is usually up the hill closer to the camping area. There
is usually archery as well. Three taverns - including Odyssey Coffee. Darkwood will also be there. Schedules are here - http://bordermarch.org/BAM/ScheduleFriday.html

Hi, all!
I'm planning on attending BAM, but this is my first time.It looks more like a mini-war and less like a standard 1-day event. What should I expect? Who is planning on attending? Should I plan on camping?

Thanks,
-- Andreas
