[Elfsea] Attendance at Moot

Perhaps discuss things we are going to do (as is done at the business meeting) at moot to get people more involved. Or maybe have some skill that can be taught inside can be demonstrated and instructed. Or games one time. Or food (that one usually works, but perhaps that is because we only do it once or twice a year).

So sad, that people feel that all information is available via the WWW. What's important is not the quantity or quality of information. What's important is the opportunity for face-to-face interaction between like minded people.

While I agree most info can be sought on line, we DO discuss important items:  bids for offices, events, acquiring volunteers for events, discussing different, and possible new, activities to have at said events, demos and all that is needed for those.....  Being at MOOT gives the populace a chance to ask questions about all those items, and talk with those that have held offices, or run events.

We also discuss information from the round tables and any changes to Kingdom laws, or news the officers bring from the higher officers at Round table.

It is a chance to speak face to face, ask questions, input new ideas and discuss items important to the populace, either as a whole or as individuals.

MOOT should be considered an important event to attend, if not regularly, then at least as often as one can. (real life DOES intervene sometimes. :)  ). We are very lucky to have a great venue to hold these meetings in.

We don’t do much that requires attention from the populace unless you are an officer. If we had activities or questions that might require input from the populace we might have more attendance. Information used to be a major reason, but now we get most of the information we need online.

I have noticed over the last year or so that attendance at Moot has steadily been droping.  As an officer of the Barony I am wondering why and I would like to figure out what we can do to get the attendance back up.

Anyone have any answers or ideas I certainly would like to here them.
