You are correct that in the past, Elfsea Baronial College has been in the Fall. We are admittedly trying something new.
A couple of details from the last few Moots:
a.. There is are only two melee events on the Calendar this year – War of Ages and BAM. Since Elfsea has access to various Boy Scout sites, we have the room to host a third melee. This will help Ansteorra continue to hone our melee skills.
b.. November is very crowded this year with hosting the demo for the Boy Scouts at the Camporee. With such a big demo, we did not want to overload the barony.
And, a couple of my own thoughts on the matter
a.. December never works out, with all the fun Yule Revels – including and especially DFT’s Yule.
b.. Summer months are pretty rough for outdoor events, so having indoor events will allow the fall events to be the larger camping events.

There will not be a Black Star announcement due to the time restraints so this is not an official event. That said it is still our event and I hope we can make this happen and show others the grand way Elfsea makes things happen.
