[Elfsea] Why Should You Attend Artisan of the Steppes if You Aren't Entering the Competition?

If you're a member of the Rapier community, please attend the Princess Tea of Her Royal Highness Toryn Sevenstitches! (Starts at 11 am!)
If you're a Chivalric fighter, Jarl Hrafn Olafsson is sponsoring a Viking Tournament (and there are showers!) Rules and format are on the Artisan event page, follow the link from steppes.ansteorra.org. 
If you're a musician and / or singer, Master Llewelyn will be heading a musician's area in the spacious, air conditioned lobby with the comfy chairs. His Excellency says, "There will be a musicians' area to play and sing, so bring your instruments and music."
If you're a cook or a baker, Sir Domingo de la Vega, OL, is sponsoring _two_ contests for the potluck feast: the best subtlety, and the best period side dish. If you're looking for a theme for your subtlety, remember, it's the 40th Birthday of Steppes!
There is also the 4th Annual Brownie Baking Competition! (Rules for these contests can also be found on the event page.)
If you like to eat, there's the chance of winning the job of being a judge in the Brownie Competition!
There's a free French toast breakfast (while supplies last)!
There's a bake sale!
There's a potluck built around Sir Domingo grilling chicken and sausage (48 pounds of chicken, people!)!
Want to get some crafting done in the air conditioning with congenial, like minded company? There's a Crafting Corner!
Heraldry on your mind? There will be an Heraldic Consultation Table~!
If your children enjoy the SCA, there are children's activities!
If you like to shop, there will be merchants! (There's room for more, so contact the Registrar, Lord Padraig mac Henri, at pathankster at gmail.com to reserve your space, through 12 August 2015.)
If you love to learn and see beautiful things, this is the event to attend! Some of the finest artisans in the Kingdom (dare I say the Known Worlde? Yes, I dare!) will not only be displaying their body of work, but will be sitting right there to talk to you about it! (Please yield to the judges, who will be wearing a judges mark for ease of recognition.)
If you would like to spend a day out of the heat in company with your friends, the site is large, with excellent air conditioning, and tables for the populace to arrange themselves around for the day!
