Looking for donations of neck protection (gorgets) for the rapier program.  She
does have budget--- but it is only enough for one gorget.  Any donations
would be greatly appreciated.

*2 Tunics made/donated for the garb box.  If you can’t make or donate
fighter tunics, consider donating cloth or thread or trim.   Lady Yvette is
also head of the costumers guild and they can do lots with donated cloth!

tables at our demos.

remember word fame and any stories or historical tidbits, patterns,
research, etc.  These are the items that make for great reading.  The prior
Tidings was extremely light on material.  Each submission is critical!

Received a large batch of photos and Black Stars back to the 1980’s.  Going
to contact populace member Ken Helfrich for assistance in going through the
backlog.  Once scanned, the photos and items will be repackaged in one tub
and stored*.  Lady Kaz needs a DEPUTY!  Help us out!*

Moving forward on Yule plans; did not get quite the clarification from
Round Table as hoped.  Issue centers around family max and it seems even
the GOofS are in question about how to handle it.

DFT is having Fin.Committee meeting and Populace soon to finalize their
policy in time for end of year requirements.  The Canton was
well-represented at round table and the *DFT Seneschal Office will come
open for bids within the month.*

provided training.  The Archery Marshal has been made aware of the newer
information regarding waivers for archery, now due in the same manner as
Rapier and Heavy.

Submit your applications as soon as possible.



NOTE: According to Master Caelin, the Seneschal only mentioned five times
in the officers meeting that a Book Herald was needed.  It must be
important.

The MOAS decided to verbally vague-book by telling us there are lots of
secret projects underway.  Populace is authorized to try to induce her to
talk--- but I understand she is good at keeping secrets.  Sorry!

Lady Liadan has taken on an additional Deputy, m’Lady Mavis Ramsay.  Please
take the time to welcome her!

Their Excellencies regret to inform that they will be unable to attend the
upcoming populace on July 25th.  To quote Baron William: “Evil Aunt Aoife
is in charge.”



The recent round table baronial/landed meeting was incredibly positive with
the general feeling of congratulations that Elfsea is now doing “all the
things”.  This much pleased Their Excellencies.



TEs have the populace pavilion and to get the poles to fit it correctly
will be adding 6-inch extensions, in addition to replacing the main beam,
which apparently suffered some damage during Gulfnado.   The work party
will be scheduled and announced.   All hands with these types of skills
will be needed.  NOTE:  Currently, Travel Pavilion is the only usable, but
that is okay because we have no events/demos coming up that will require
the populace pavilion.



Braggarts War (Elfsea, Steppes, Bonwicke) will begin in 2017.  Each Barony
will take an aspect.  At the 2017 War, Elfsea will cover the service
aspects and be in charge of coordinating tear down, bathrooms, water
bearing, and heralds.   This is going to be modeled after Gulf War (minus
the tornado) and points will be awarded for A&S, Service, and Fighting.
FUN!!



*Craft-A-Palooza at Their Excellencies’ Castle*!   TEs hold a metal working
night and invite people to join them with any project they would like to
sit and work with the group and we can take care of any minor repairs to
baronial equipment, armor, etc.  More details to come.





*COOKS GUILD*

Master Caelin

*Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at Master Caelin’s house. *Due to
prior conflicts; did not occur in July.  Pick up again in August--- in time
for YULE FEAST PLANNING!

*CLOTHIERS GUILD*

Lady Yvette

*Meets on the last Friday of each month at Lady Yvette’s house from 7pm
until done.*

There is a FB page--- request to be added and let’s make some garb!!!

*SCRIBAL GUILD*

Lady Silvana

*Meetings are going to occur at Lady Silvana’s house. More details as they
arrive.*

3 new members at the most recent guild meeting and the kingdom still states
we are the vanguard of original scrolls.

*ELFSEA ACADEMY*

HL Jeanne-Marie

Held the first Monday of each month!

*The second class is Costuming and will have multiple instructors*.  Roman,
Norse, Landsknect, and later period will be discussed with examples and
some patterns.

Class is held at Buffalo Wild Wings in Bedford.  *Garb is optional.  Food
or drink purchase is NOT required.*

NOTE: The first Academy class was taught by Master Robin of Gilwell
(History of the SCA) and was very well attended!
