Greetings, Elfsea.

Your Officer Corps and Guild Heads met for another great round of
rapid-paced barony business.

The follow-up notes are below and a limited number of hard copies will be
available at the June *Populace Meeting on Monday, June 27th at the Bedford
Public Library*.

Bring your questions about any information in these notes.

It is critical to create the pass-down notes for your offices.  (*Need ALL*)

This type of information may help demystify the duties of each position and
ensure officers are replaced in efficiently.  Officers were provided a
template of the pass-down format via email and handouts at the
meeting.  *Outgoing
officers need to do this quickly and get a copy to the Seneschal.*



Completed notes should be sent electronically to the Seneschal for
compilation into a master book--- and copies given to each of your deputies
and anyone interested in the position.   The populace should have access to
these notes and they may eventually be posted on the web page, once
compiled.



*GETTING TO KNOW THE CURRENT OFFICERS *

INFO FOR OFFICERS:

Finance Committee Meeting: 6:30p-7p before 6/27/16 Populace.

Finance Signature Cards on-site, need signatures.

Need photo of new Exchequer’s DL.



*New List of Authorized Check Signers*:  SENESCHAL (Aoife), EXCHEQUER
(Astridr), AT-LARGE (Eleanor), and OFFICER REP (Caelin).  Note:  Eleanor is
also the Central, so policy is met on that level as well.



*BARONIAL COLLEGE  /  BOY SCOUT JAMBOREE / ARLINGTON LIBRARY DEMO*

*INFO FOR OFFICERS:*

*Baronial College to be held on October 1, 2016*:  Bids were opened at the
April populace meeting.  As of the officers meeting, *no bids have been
received* for the finance committee to review.



*Arlington Library Demo at the Levitt Pavilion to be held on October 22,
2016; *we have a couple of requests for demo hosting.  TEs and I will be
reviewing for decision



*Boy Scout Jamboree Demo to be held November 11, 2016*: we have a couple of
requests for demo hosting.  TEs and I will be reviewing for decision



*ALL OF THESE need to be cemented soon… so that planning can begin.*

HE Master Caelin reports that he has the password and can make many
changes; but still to get with HE Alejandro to review structural additions
& deletions.

*The Canton is taking a well-deserved break after running two very
successful events in May.

*Planning for YULE has begun (Lord Franklin is the Event Steward with Lady
Aoife as the Co-Steward).  For this event we have added a new coordinator
position (Social Media) and it is expected that FB advertising will begin
soon after July Round Table.  Also, plans to invite TRMs and the incoming
P&P (who will be K&Q by the time Yule occurs).  There is a sincere hope for
Royal Presence.

The Barony is in good condition with money in the bank.  The Deputy
Exchequer is Tiffany Griffin (milady Stefania).

*KNIGHT MARSHAL*

*OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS**; *Practices have been very well attended thanks to
solid and consistent support from the knights and royal families.  Training
is being conducted and in practices, it is not uncommon to see 8+ folks
suited and fighting with an equal number providing training.

*Put in an application for this fun position—perfect for a fighter who
wants to keep this going!*

*ARCHERY MARSHAL*

up.  Actually,
the five participants were able to sit and spend time chatting while the
storms ensued.

position within the month.*

*NAUTILUS PURSUIVANT*

*OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS*; *While Lady Cecelia leaves us for greener
pastures, her heart is Elfsea and she will be only a FB page away for the
person who can replace her.  She will personally follow any/all submissions
she has made to ensure continuity.*



The plan is to find a BOOK HERALD and a VOICE HERALD to fill this position,
with one being the deputy.  The Baron and Baroness do not expect a
replacement to be experts in both.

Two interested parties have made themselves known (one for each).  If you
have an interest, please let the Seneschal and B&B know.

*MINISTER OF ARTS & SCIENCES*

All is going very well in the Ministry of Arts and Sciences.  Lady Liadan
is querying the population to find out what projects are on the horizon---
and her Deputy, Lady Aureliana gave the pass down to the group on current
status.

the baronial MOC position, as there are background check requirements.

The announcement on Kingdom MOC should be soon--- good luck, Lady Silvana!

We have had one application for the position and it is being vetted over
the next few weeks.

·      TEs wish to publicly thank Lady Cecelia for all she has done for the
barony.

·      TEs wish to publicly thank Sir Eber for finding the new site for the
Academie.

·      *TEs have come into possession of 3 milk crates of general Ansteorra
history files for distribution to the various baronies and our own
historian.  These will be handed out at round table.*

·      TEs will be at Round Table

·      *TEs cannot attend Summer Crown, so if you are going—please note
there is a restriction on space and the space must be reserved NLT Friday
6/24.*

·      Storage:  Our current space is actually 10’x15’ and TEs have a plan
to consolidate space by use of overhead shelving, table rolling cart, and
culling existing extraneous items.  It is possible that with these plans
and construction of shelves, the barony could use a 10’x10’ space,
significantly lowering the monthly rental cost from $138 (which includes
insurance) to possibly under $100*.  Still looking into options.  Still
needing ideas! Barony??*

NOTE: DFT Seneschal recommended that Barony consider an 8’x10’ or 8’x15’
trailer.  Will probably be discussed more as current options flesh out.





*COOKS GUILD*

Master Caelin

*Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at Master Caelin’s house.  *

The guild meeting consisted of Master Caelin and Lady Eleanor sitting and
discussing recipes.  Hopefully, as the weather and summer cooperate, more
will begin attending again--- especially in preparation for DFT Yule Feast,
which will consist of Norse and Norman recipes.  J



*CLOTHIERS GUILD*

Lady Silvana

*Meets on the 4th Friday of each month at Lady Silvana’s house, 6-9pm.*

Lady Silvana encourages folks to bring projects and knowledge and view the
FB page.



*SCRIBAL GUILD*

Lady Cecelia

*Meetings are going to occur at Lady Silvana’s house until further notice.*
Lady Cecelia has stated that she will still supply the Barony with scrolls
for College and Yule and will send around September timeframe.  She wanted
to give kudos to her husband Sebastian, Lady Silvan, and Lord Herries for
their work on originals.

*ELFSEA ACADEMY*

HL Jeanne-Marie

The first Academy class begins on July 11th,, 7-9pm  First up is Master
Robin of Gilwell who will teach the History of the SCA.  Garb is optional
and the new location is Buffalo Wild Wings in Bedford





*EVENT UPDATES*

*Other/Additional Notes:*

·      Sunday (6/26) is the Steppes large Populace in the Park and Elfsea
Populace Pavilion will be on site with the Baron and Baroness.  Fighters,
artisans, populace members are encouraged to attend.

**After the populace meeting, this pavilion will be disassembled and the
poles will go to the B&B residence for repair and staining.*

*The Travel Pavilion is already completely redone and after the Populace
pavilion repair, the next step is to repair/restore/renew the Presence
Pavilion.

*The goal is to have poles designated for easy identification and removal
during events and only keep necessary spares.
