[Elfsea] Volunteers Need AnimeFest Demo 07.25-07.28.2024

Hello, Wonderful Barony!

Thursday, July 25, Friday, July 26, Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28th
is AnimeFest.org and Elfsea has a community table for all four days AND
fighting demo time on Saturday, 7/27! With that I need additional
assistance. Want to share your skills and knowledge? How about your
Chivalric and/or Rapier skills? Brand new and Experienced fighters are
encouraged and will be welcomed!! YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO STAY ALL DAY! A
couple hours of your time will be greatly appreciated!

Please read this site for additional Convention Policies!

Basic info:

• We have 1-6' long table and 2 chairs (can request more).
• The tables are located on the 3rd floor outside the Dealers’ Room
(Crystal Ballroom) on the 3rd floor. Upon arrival, please check in with the
Dealer Room manager inside the Dealer room. The Dealer room will be staffed
and available for check in 1 hour prior to open hours.
• The hours for the Dealers’ room are:
o Thursday, July 25th: 12 pm (noon) – 7 pm
o Friday, July 26th: 10 am – 6 pm
* Saturday, July 27th: 10 am – 6 pm
o Sunday, July 28th: 10 am – 2 pm.
• Representatives must have identification of affiliation with the
organization they are representing. The community tables are accessible
during the entire convention time and are not monitored. Please do not
leave any valuables unattended.
• We do not need to be at the table the whole time.

Parking is $20 at the Loews Hotel. There are other places nearby to park.
Best suggestion is to carpool if you plan to park at Loew’s Hotel. Read the
above link for the parking video and for the discount code.

Fighting Demo Info

• Your authorization card AND SCA membership need to be current and bring
proof of both. This is for the demo only. Unfortunately, there are not any
badges to roam the con.
• As requested, it should be on Saturday 1pm-3pm in the LARP Room. This is
located on the 1st floor of the hotel. (Please see map as needed)
• Due to how crazy a convention can be, I would advise you to tell anyone
participating to arrive at MINIMUM 30-45 minutes before the scheduled demo
- especially if they need to park, get to the room, and kit up. The
convention does not run on SCA time.
• They are not any badges for fighters; HOWEVER, they will not need them to
gain access to the demo space. If they are participating in the demo I was
given the following information: We (AnimeFest staff) can arrange to have
them meet in the area by Registration, and someone can escort them down
(the the LARP Room)
• The room will have A/C and should have an open floor with seating around.
The room is an exhibit style hall. Polearms can be used!
• In previous years AnimeFest had free water stations placed inside and
around convention rooms. Fighters should have access to these as needed.
• Due to convention weapon policy, I would suggest any rapier fighters to
keep their weapons stored away until they get to the demo space.
Staff/volunteers may mistake a rapier sword as an open weapon and then
things can get complicated.
• QUICK NOTE - The con is run by volunteers who may not understand what or
who the SCA is. If they stop anyone because of their weapon, just let the
fighters know to be polite and explain they are going directly to the demo
area for their event. If they still have trouble, they should have a
contact number so you/someone at the table can help them.


Table Demo Info

•Proof of current membership – your Blue card or your Digital card.
•Please make sure your Art and/or Science is something you can carry; no
equipment bigger than a table top size loom if you bring a fiber art like
this.
•Unfortunately, there are not any badges to roam the con.
