[Elfsea] Elfsea Defender Thanks

[Baroness of Elfsea]

Elfsea Defender 2026 was an incredible event! An SCA record was broken! We
hosted the most elevations in one day! In total, there were 10 elevations.
We ended up with a total of 293 people in attendance! Their Royal Majesties
saw fit to elevate the following gentles: Her Grace, Mistress Margherita,
was elevated to the Order of the Mark along with His Excellency, Master
Isaac Bane, and Master Ryan Savage. Mistress Koia Karasova and Mistress
Elizabethe de Salisbiry were both elevated to the Order of the Laurel along
with His Excellency, Sir Vincenti da Murano (a surprise elevation). Sir Fyn
Alreksson, Sir Meurik the Humble, and Sir Raulff Smeithberde, were elevated
to the Order of Chivalry. The second surprise elevation was for Her
Excellency, Mistress Katerine le Roux d'Anjou to the Order of the Pelican.
Vivat to all of the Peers made!

The event would not have run smoothly without the efforts of our event
stewards, Her Ladyship Astrid Flokadottir and Lady Gwenllyan verch Wilkin.
Thank you both very much for ensuring the success of Eflsea Defender. Her
Ladyship Astrid also wore more than one hat. As our head of entourage, she
ensured we had support all day Saturday and Sunday. If we didn't have
someone, she stepped up and covered us. We would also like to thank Lady
Cwenthryth of Northwice, Centurion Kobayashi no Hotaru, m'lord Winebald
Everardson, Duchess Sonja Ryzaja, Honorable Lady Alhdryth ceorlstrang, Lady
Roana Alys FitzStephen, Lord Kellath Dun, Honorable Lady Marion inghean u'
Ruanadha, and Master Sebastian Eton Frobishire for giving your time to us.

We would also like to thank the crew that helped with the event setup. This
includes the people that joined us at our storage facility to get all the
necessary items to site. Thank you Sir Arthur, newest Lion of Ansteorra,
Master Sebastian Eton Frobishire, Lady Gwenllyan verch Wilkin, Lord Sigmund
Ulfsson, m'lady Disa Einarsdottir, m'lord Einar, Honorable Lady Marion
inghean u'Ruanadha, Honorable Lady Astrid Flokadottir, and Lady Cwenthryth
of Northwice.

We would also like to give a special thanks to Her Ladyship Gwenfrewi ferch
Llewellyn for being our gate coordinator. We would like to thank the
gentles that gave up their time to sit gate shifts: Honorable Lady Marion
inghean u' Ruanadha, Lady Adelaide de Ruthven, Honorable Lady Megan Flower
del Wal, Her Grace, Centurion Sonja Ryzaja, Grant Armiger Nalka Um
Al-Jafna, Lady Machteld van den steinhuse, Carmen of Glaslyn, and Lord
Kellath Dun. Also, thank you especially to those gentles that helped out
Her Ladyship Gwenfrewi when calamity struck and the gate pavilion had to be
rescued.

We would also like to thank our outgoing champions for their service over
the past year. Thank you Duke Ulsted the Unsteady, our outgoing cut and
thrust champion, Maestro Diego Fortuna de Almeria, our outgoing rapier
champion, Lord Martino Giovanni Arciere, our outgoing archery champion, and
Sir Rande Robertson, our outgoing chivalric champion. You all conducted
yourselves well and represented Elfsea with dignity. Thank you for creating
fun formats for the tournaments and for being flexible with the event's
needs to accommodate all the elevations.

To our incoming champions, Marcus von Fürth, our new cut and thrust
champion, Master Sebastian Eton Frobishire, our new archery champion, Don
Mathias Grünwalt our new rapier champion, and Centurion Rollo Svensson our
new chivalric champion, we are most excited to have you all and look
forward to seeing what the coming year will bring.

Thank you to all those that entered our lists!

Thanks are also needed for Her Ladyship Alhdryth ceorlstrang for keeping
the hydration station going!

The announcements for awards and champions would not have been possible
without the efforts of our court heralds. Don Alric Godwynson took very
good care of us and performed well on Saturday and His Grace, Sir Gabriel
of Macusswell, took very good care of us and performed well on Sunday.
Thank you both for your efforts.

We would like to give special thanks to Her Ladyship Alhdryth ceorlstrang
and Lady Delfina de Borja. Both helped us create an on-site scroll. Lady
Delfina loaned His Excellency a pen with which to verb the scroll and Her
Ladyship Alhdryth embroidered the award insignia directly onto the scroll
for us for the site manager Blake of the Lake that ensured the site was
maintained for our use.

We also held a fundraiser at Elfsea Defender to raise funds for our
continued use of an indoor site for fighter practice, arts and sciences,
and socializing. We are happy to inform our populace that we raised
$391.00! This is enough to cover almost an entire month of the indoor space!

We thank Lady Gwenllyan verch Wilkin, her neighbor, Ginger, Sir Arthur, and
Master Sebastian Eton Frobishire for tearing down the event and ensuring
everything returned to storage.

Elfsea Defender would not have been a successful event without the efforts
of the previously named individuals. Thank you all for your service, care,
and time freely given. We sincerely appreciate all of you.
