<html><P> In the old days we taught history first. We exposed people to the ideals of the Middle Ages. In building a persona people adopted the behavior in their day to day life in the SCA. We then create activities which promoted the ideals. We were trying to show how the best of the middle ages thought everyone should act. Some people carried this over to the real world. Some people only did it in the context of Ansteorra. We were not a religious or a group seeking high morals we were a group of people studying a society that had ideals and we showed those ideals as part of recreating pre 17th century life. The good things that came out of it were gravy, but they did come out of it. </P>
<P>If we try to create a sub culture that lives to a higher ethical and moral level than the world around us we will fail. IF we create a kingdom ( Ansteorra) and set it up to run like the ideal medieval world and promote the values of courtesy, honor, loyalty, chivalry and generosity we will have a group that will be viable. If everyone will adopt, at least, the base persona of a Lord or Lady and take on the duties and requirements and teach other to do so most of our problems will go away. </P>
<P>Stop living in the mundane SCA and start living in the medieval kingdom of Ansteorra. Don't talk about the Dream, Be the Dream!!</P>
