<div><font face="Arial" size="2">The first weekend of August we're doing a demo at a Science Fiction / Fantasy convention in McKinney. The convention is called Lazy Dragon Con. You can go to thier website to check out details.

<div><font face="Arial" size="2">I say "a demo" but the reality is going to be a very differnt experience. We don't seek demonstrators. We seek con-goers. Our goal for this convention is to attend it, and have a fantastic time, do some demos at scheduled times, host a party or two, meet new friends, have fun with current friends, and be terrific ambassadors for the SCA while we do it.

<div><font face="Arial" size="2">To that end our Demo Coordiantor Faelan has secured a REALLY SWEET DEAL for us. Pre-reg for this convention is $35. That's a pretty darn good deal to attend a con, even a small local one. But no... if we pre-register a group that's larger than 10, we get in for $15 each for the whole weekend. How great is that? For those who cannot afford to attend the convention but wish to help with some of our various demonstrations, our fighting demos will be outside and that area is accessible from the parking lot.

<div><font face="Arial" size="2">As of right now, we have firm commitments from enough people that we qualify for this discount. But 10 isn't enough. I'd like to see 20, 30 or more SCAdians attend this convention, hang out, meet new people, ambassador for our organization, fight in our demos, enjoy each other's company... We're going to have a GREAT TIME!

I'm assembling the list, and will coordinate the pre-registration process so we get our folks locked in at this awesome price. There is only one event in the kingdom that weekend, down in Westgate (A terrific event held by find people that I encourage you to go to if you're not staying for the Con). Of course a few are going to Pennsic. Enjoy that! But if you're in town, come on out. Get to me asap.
