<DIV>I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone who helped pull off our
Shire's A&S competition this year. A great big thank you goes to Lady
Catrin, without whom I would have been totally lost. She set everything
up, helped me get started, and spent a good bit of her day under the pavilion
with me when she wasn't going to do half a million other things. Her
boundless energy and good natured spirit are truly both admirable and
inspirational, as well as enviable. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Thanks also to Terrence, Padraig, and Alric, who provided wheeled transport
for me and my belongings. I wouldn't have made it through the heat without
you! Also, thank you to everyone who helped carry things for me--Polydore,
Sebastian, Terrence, Alric, Padraig, Eleanor, Catrin--if I missed anyone, I'm
sorry. It was really hot, and my memory goes down the tubes when I get
overheated.</DIV>

<DIV>Thanks also to those who helped to judge, in particular HE Ameline and Lord
Sebastian. Your input was so greatly appreciated, and I hope that you
enjoyed yourselves, too. Another thank you to all who entered and voted
for their favorite entrant. We couldn't have done it without you!

<DIV>Mostly, I would like to thank HL Bice for all the hard work that she put
into coordinating this A&S event. This has been her baby for a long,
long time, and if it had not been for last minute injuries to her husband and
dog, she would have done it all again. She made the beautiful judges'
gifts--hand knitted pouches made from a period pattern published in a recent
TI. She made it so easy for me to step in and fill her shoes at the last
minute, and believe me, they are big shoes to fill (I'm not talkin' size,
either). It was an honor to help her after all that she has done for so
many years to help others. Bice, you were really missed this year--don't
make us have to do without you next year!!!</DIV>
