[Emerald] Defenders of the Rose 2007

Greetings unto the Shires of Shadowlands and Emerald
Keep from the Members of the Order of the Rose!

Please know that the Roses are honored and grateful
that Shadowlands and Emerald Keep are once again
co-hosting the Defenders of the Rose tourney. 

Preparations for this year's Defenders are well
underway, and I'm delighted with all the enthusiastic
support we've received!

Many thanks to everyone who has volunteered so far!

for the tournaments or activities they are sponsoring,
we'd love to pair each one with a local contact who
can assist them. If you are interested in being a
local liaison for any of the following activities,

If you are not a liaison or coordinator, there will
still be plenty of opportunity to assist with staffing
in other ways (for instance, as crew for gate or
waterbearing or decorations).

If you don't know some of the people listed above,
fear not! We are scheduling a brief meeting at Crown
Tourney on October 6 so that we'll have a chance to
meet the folks we don't know, and catch up with the
ones we do! More detals will be posted prior to the
event.

On a personal note, I want to say that while the
Roses are an incredibly varied group with vastly
differing opinions and backgrounds and interests, I
think it is safe to say that we are united in a
profound love for Ansteorra. This tourney is very
special to us, because it represents a way for us to
celebrate our Kingdom in all Her diversity and to
recognize the martial and artistic excellence of Her
populace. 

Thank you so much, all of you who have worked with us
in the past and who are working with us again this
year, for your help in making that celebration of
Ansteorra a reality. There are but a handful of us
Roses, and the Defenders of the Rose tourney could not
exist without the generous assistance and hard work of
Shadowlands and Emerald Keep. You are our heroes!
