It was a great day at archery and afterwards we had a good evening brewing
beer and meads. We left the Twice Holey Woods around 5PM and adjourned to
Wanderers Rest where we started brewing, continued eating, chatting,
planning for the Contrade, there was music Making, kids playing, horseback
riding, and we even had time for a game on Risk in the wee hours. I think
there where only two fewer people at Brewing than there was at Archery.

Gwen made her first ever mead(a cherry mead). That promises to be a VERY
sweet dessert type mead that MIGHT be ready by the Yule season. (don't count
on it since really sweet takes a long time to ferment)

Ciaran made his first ever all-grain beer that promises to be a very light
and refreshing beer with a spicy hop nose to it. The brew should be ready
in around a month. Perhaps he will share it with us next month.

I had planned to brew traditional mead but got busy with other things. I
did manage to rack 3 meads that I already had going as part of an experiment
and we all got to taste the gravity samples and see how different yeast and
even different treatment of the same yeast effects the taste of the mead.
I'll probably do the mead that I had otherwise planned sometime this week.
I had also planned to plant my Hop yard but ran out of daylight so I had to
plat them without help.

Once again next month the Brewers Guild will meet after Archery practice on
Saturday May 6. Sometime in the 4-5PM range we will adjourn from archery
and start brewing. All are invited to come and share the dream with us.

If you are interested in brewing or vinting beer, mead, or wine or even in
making cordials please join us. If you don't know how to get started or
need to know want to bring contact our Guild Principal Milord Ciaran or
myself and we will point you in the right direction.

In Service to Crown, Canton, and the Dream,

Lord Eadric Anstapa
