comments on the above... I grew up in the SCA, I am 26 now
My school was somewhat familer with the SCA, as my sister had Tel and Janet
up there two years in a row for demos, and I had Sig & Tarl, and a few
others othere there one year. We had to bring Demo's in bescause my sister
in detail told her history class how drawing and quartering was done....
Then when I was in 7th grade, in my english class we ha dto write a paper
over what female we looked up to the most. Well Rowan had been a "parental"
figure for me as many others had ( one nice thing or perhaps not so nice
depending on your age.. you have lots of "parental figueres in the SCA)
A few weeks before the teacher requested we do this paper Rowan won crown in
her own right... and the running line was that she was King and Hector was
queen
So I wrote this wonderful paper, it really was good... and I was a a
student... I got a big fat F on it because I lied... according to the
teacher... this was her firstyear at the school and she had no clue as to
what the sca was... which is when Sig and crew came and did a demo.. to this
day, I owe the A that I got three weeks later on teh same paper to them
coming to my aid :)
