The only real con is that if you send a message from an account that
isn't subscribed to the list, there is the possibility of your post
being delayed. Especially if you send it, say, late on a Friday when the
moderator (Stephen) is leaving to go to an out of town event.

The benefit, though, is no SPAM, or anything else which the moderator
deems inappropriate, originating from random accounts out there in the
Internet.

For what it's worth, this is how I run the Hou-announce list (posts from
non-subscribers must be approved by me), and I haven't had any
complaints yet. (At least, until now. I'm sure that some wise-apple will
correct that deficiency now that I've pointed it out. *grin*)
