[Gatesedge] News from War

Vivat, Lord Carluccio! Well done!

In other news, Ansteorra also won the Thrown Weapons point. The TW
competition was spread out over three days, so I didn't get to meet too many
throwers, as I was only at the range for a couple hours on two different
days. I did manage to score 56 points for Ansteorra though. The
competition was set up for each weapon (knife/axe/spear) to be thrown at
15/25/35/45 ft ranges. You started at 15 and if you scored with at least
one weapon out of six, you qualified to move back one range and throw again
for each range. Well, after throwing great with knives in practice, I
proceeded to bounce all six at 15 ft, so that shut out my knife portion.
However, I did exceptionally well with axe and spear, eventually throwing
both from 45 feet. After throwing 6 knives, 24 axes, and 24 spears, my arms
were shot, but I was proud of my contribution to the war point.

I have also spoken with Lord Eadric about adding a thrown weapons practice
at his place to be held in conjunction with archery practice. If anyone is
interested in throwing, please let me know. I need to build some targets
yet and gather up some loaner gear. I bought three knives at war (big and
heavy) that will be for loaning.

In service,
Lord Alden Drake
Guy who throws pointy things.
