OK, they only kept we in the hospital 3 days. I am home now and will try
to catch up on emails tomorrow.

Basically they did as expected and I went into surgery and they opened
things up again, cleaned out a hematoma, and put in a drain tube connected
to a device called a hemovac. I have been kept on strong IV antibiotics
since the procedure. The drain was removed this morning and I am now much
more comfortable without it.

I stayed in the hospital a little longer than expected because I evidently
had a pretty elevated white cell count. The blood cultures all came back
negative and my white count is now back to normal. They seem to think that
I just have a strong response to stress/surgery and the elevated white count
was a normal response of my body dealing with the surgery.

All of this has set my full recovery back a week or two but I feel OK and am
glad to be back home.

Thanks for the thoughts, emails, and phone calls and visits to the hospital.

Regards,
