As far as apartments go, that'll largely depend on your price range.  My wife and I lived in the Brandon Oaks Apts for a couple years and thought they were pretty nice.  Their address is 11111 Saathoff Drive, Cypress, TX 77429.  There's quick access to FM 1960 and RT 290 for countless shops and dining.  There are also nearby schools, churches, and a small library.
 
I called and got prices for you:
1 bed 1 bath (607 sq ft) = $525
1 bed 1 bath (718 sq ft) = $550
2 bed 1 bath (876 sq ft) = $650
2 bed 2 bath (983 sq ft) = $699
2 bed 2 bath (1100 sq ft) = $750 (we had this one, and thought the kitchen small)
 
They are currently running a special for no deposit, no admin fees, and if you look at the property and lease an apt, there's no application fee.  Other times they do a first month rent free deal.  Their phone number is 281-955-1288
