[Gatesedge] From the Admin

Greetings:

Recently it has come to my attention that some posts are not being
automatically sent to the list as some subscribers would expect. This is
partly because the Gatesedge list is set to filter any posting larger than
10 KB to the administrator for approval. This is designed to eliminate
SPAM, not to restrict any individual or individuals from posting to the
list.

To avoid having posts held for approval:

1) Trim headers and footers from forwarded or replied posts.

2) Snip anything not immediately relevant to your comment.

3) Don't forward chain-mail to the list.

4) Don't include the list on mass mailings. (Large numbers of
recipients on a post will also trip the filters.)

5) Post only from subscribed e-mail addresses. (If you'd like to
subscribe an address for posting only, but don't wish for it to receive any
mail, you can go into your settings and set that address for "nomail" - if
you have questions on how to do this, just drop me a line.)

I hope that this will help alleviate future problems. I'll try to make it a
point to repost this every so often as a reminder. If you have any
questions about any of these suggestions, or about anything else related to
the Gatesedge list, please let me know.

Honor and glory, health and fortune,

HL Snorri Hallsson
