[Gatesedge] Fabric stores?

SOooooooo....

In the interests of my work, what stores are there
downtown?  Is there a warehouse district for fabric? 
What's the best place to go?  I do theatrical
costuming--sometimes I have a lot of budget, although
I tend to go to warehouses where I can get nice silks
and the like on the cheap.

I know this is slightly off topic but occasionally
costumes end up SCA-period for people I know.

I've got to go on a hunt but I'm scared of the
traffic, which is ridiculous, really, isn't it?
