Someone mentioned on a newscast one night that once the power comes back on... don't go run turning on your DVD and computer all at once.  It was suggested that they may have some humitity issues due to having windows open for days.  The news stated that if you leave them alone for a few hours while the A/C sets-up, then try them after the A/C has pulled some of the moisture out of the house, they should work ok.
