<html><DIV>Greetings friends! This years Mid-Summer Faire event promises to be better than ever. We will have much to do and watch. The Canton of Gates Edge in the Barony of the Stargate is hosting this event, which has returned to being a camping event. We are trying out a new great site (Camp Camwood, in the Magnolia, Texas area) which will accomodate the activities/competitions in Chivalric and Rapier combat, Archery, Equestrian, Knife/Axe/Spear, Gaming, A&S, Bardic, Dancing, and Childrens activites. If you plan to be in the Stargate/Loch Sollier/Ravensfort area on the weekend of June 1-3, 2001, please come and join us. I'm certain crash space can be arranged for those out of the area interested in coming.</DIV>

<DIV>Whew! With so much going on, and the amount of ground to be covered we will be needing the assistance of any good gentles who would like to be voice heralds, whether wake-up/camp heralding, list field heralds, or runners to spead announcements through out the day.</DIV>

<DIV>It is not necessary to be an "experienced" herald, just time, energy, and a strong voice. Anyone who wishes to try this and break in to a new interest can do this. I am certain that I and/or a few other of our heralds would be happy to give some basic training and pointers to anyone who would like to do voice heraldry. If distance permits, I am also planning to have an informal "class" to help those who have never done voice heraldry and want to learn.</DIV>
