<DIV>This coming Saturday evening will bring our group special news "officially".  When groups are elevated in their status, it is customary for the group to present a "gift" to the Crown. I believe it to be symbolic of the groups prosperity and the gift/largesse is offered as affirmation of the groups readiness to live up to it's new status.  My interpretation may be wrong, but I believe it would also be a really nice gesture of our appreciation of the Kingdom's faith in our efforts.</DIV>

<DIV>On behalf of our Seneschal who is temporarily e-mail challenged , I am requesting that the populace of Gate's Edge rally together and gather much largesse and insignia, handmade or period style gift items, etc., and attend this Saturday's Day at the Colliseum and stand with each other as the canton is elevated to a shire.  Please search your hearts, the nearest close-out store and closets for something that may express our thanks.  Please bring items to be donated for the presentation at least an hour before court starts, and try to pass them on to Lady Aylwin or myself.    I know this is short notice, but I know we can make a good showing if everyone pitches in.</DIV>
