             GOOD LORDS AND LADIES
The North Texas Irish Festival is an event where the SCA is allowed to demonstrate its purpose and vitality. We use it most appropriately as an instrument to recruit new members. There are many thousands of people who attend this event. One thing we do know is that they already have some connection with SCA heritage since it is an IRISH festival.
I will be posting requests for artisans and fighters to work certain shifts at the SCA booth in early February. Set up is Friday evening. We are there recruiting and demonstrating Saturday and Sunday only, and have always had a good time talking to interested mundanes. I don't yet know how the fighters will be able to display their prowess and skill, but they are always a wonderful draw.
The Festival itself always needs volunteers for its own needs. To sign up to assist them, go to their web site http://www.ntif.org, where you can link to the volunteer sign up site. However, please keep your own at the top of your list. Thank you, Bre'nainn MacGiolla Phadraig, Steppes Demo co-ordinator.
