Greetings all!

I am most ly here to lurk, but I am considering coming back into the Dream once I get my work and money matters squared away. I have missed a number of people here and figured I would stop and say "hi".

As for who I am, for those whose memories are not scarred yet...mundanely I am Richard Culver, 34 y/o father of three. I just finished a school year of driving buses for Denton ISD and am currently trying to get a Special Ed aide position in the Lewisville school district (where I live- The Colony- and my wife works). I have a bit of a knack for old languages especially Old English and Old Frisian though I can read related languages fairly well. My historical interest is in Migration Age Germania, specifically England. I fortunately married above my statuts and have a very smart wife who just graduated with her Masters in English Lit with a focus on medieval English/Anglo-Saxon literature with a 4.0 GPA. Unfortunately I feel pretty dumb around her. :) Perhaps I might be able to drap her to a thing or two as our schedules gel. She is hopefully (acceptance pending) going to UTD to get her PhD.

Persona-wise, I was known as Cyniric hlafard Cyniwarding Wulfricinga, former Glaslyn herald, man-at-arms and house retainer to Airaklee and Ceinwen. all-around bad joke maker, and frequently ebaten like a baby seal by the other fighters. I do fit into the catagory of buttom-dwelling, scum-sucking, mutant lefty when it comes to fighting (about the only time I am in my right mind). I was also Newcomer Champion for Raven's Fort in 2000. Cyniric is a late 5th century Angle (no longer acute- the years have made me rather obtuse around the waist) who served a wagonman and merchant trader splitting his time between the old homeland and the new, not having made a permanent settlement as of yet. Technically that makes my older than Airaklee. :)

I hope all are doing well and perhaps I will be able to make time for at elast attending a few local things. One thing at least is I finally have made my own garb based on the Thorsberg grave find tunic. :)

BTW congrats to Sir Louie. Really not sure I should try fighting again having found that out. I still hurt from my lst beating.

  Godspede!
  Rich/Cyniric
