To the Populace of the Steppes, Glaslyn and Lindenwood do I Katheryn send
you greetings

It is with mixed emotions that I write this last missive as the Baroness of
the Steppes. While I am happy to be beside my great love, I cannot help but
miss my friends and family in the lands where I discovered a new life in
this game that we play. I miss seeing your faces daily but rejoice that
Baron Donnchadh and I will travel to see you again in the future.

In the past few years, Steppes, we have had many great events and found ways
to cut costs producing them. We have provided a great service to Ansteorra
by hosting several kingdom events. Our fighter practices have greater
numbers attending, our demos are more productive than ever and we have great
people willing to help those new people who come from the demos get started.
Our officers are on time with reports and are turning in our waivers with
little negative feedback in the Round Table meetings. Our champions now have
new insignia and our banners fly beautifully in the wind. Our lands are
strong and growing and that is because of *your* hard work. We have
accomplished many things and we have much to be proud of. Vivat!

To the event and feast stewards, to the officers, to the marshals and all
fighters and archers, to givers of largesse and makers of insignia, to the
people who hauled and transported items, to the calligraphers and
illuminators, to the many other support staff in our groups – I give you a
big thank you for your great service.

Thank you to Honorable Lady Margarite, Lord Deitrich and to Lady Susanna for
serving as seneschal of the Steppes during my tenure. Thanks also to
Baroness Ceinwin, Baroness Honour, Lady Micola and Lady Lena for serving as
seneschals of Glaslyn and Lindenwood. They are the right hand to the landed
and I appreciate their service.

I want to thank the guard who protected our lands and especially those
fighters who fought next to me and protected me in battle at Gulf Wars.
Those are moments I will never forget. Thanks to my captain Centurion Damon
and the lieutenants Lady Layla, Lady Vyolante, and Sir Lasguaard for their
service to our group.

I want to specifically thank those who served with me personally the last
three years. Countess Elizabeth, Centurion Damon, Lady Viviana, Lady Layla,
Lady Regan, Lord Geoffrey– thank you for assisting before and during events,
for proof-reading, for hauling and gathering, and for remembering things for
me.

A special thanks to Duke Miguel, Duchess Conal, Master Robin, Mistress
Serena, Master Duncan, Mistress Genevieve and Sir Morgan for their sage
advice for the last three years.

Mighty lands of the Steppes - you are in the capable hands of Master Duncan
and Mistress Genevieve as Their Majesties pass the coronets on to them. Offer
them your support and kindness and continue in your great work.

I will look forward to the future and watching you grow stronger and
greater. I hope to see you all this weekend as we celebrate the at the
Investiture!

With great joyful affection for you all

Katheryn
Baroness of the Steppes
