*welcome* Lisa and family

I'm afraid I won't be able to meet you, this weekend, I'm still recovering
from a bug, but I sure hope you get to go to Canton and Steppes Warlord,
enjoy one of the Steppes' biggest and most fun events of the year.

fyi.....y'all is plural for you. ; )

galen, Lady Falcone du Hardin

          Lisa,

My apologies for not jumping in and welcoming you sooner. Welcome
to Texas and to Ansteorra. I am glad to hear that your family will be coming
out to Warlord. Please come by the Steppes pavilion and say hello. Baroness
Genevieve and I would love to meet you.

          Duncan Hepburn
Baron of the Steppes and Lord of Glaslyn
(despite the title, I'm not stuffy... really) =)

                  Hello Baroness,

It is lovely to meet people from Glaslyn. I have had
several friends find spouses from SCA events. I think that is great on
several levels. My "dating" since in Texas has been quite comical mostly.
The stories I could tell I probably shouldn't...so suffice it to say...if I
write my memoirs...they would be right up there with maybe Anne Rice or
Bertrice Small but in a non-fictional kind of way...lol...of course the
names would have to be changed...finding someone in the SCA would be much
more delightful. Maybe I'll next meet a pirate ...nothing surprises me
anymore. If they have a gimmick, I will find them...lol.

The fam and I will be shlepping it out to the Steppes in
Canton. I made that sound so self assured....but the truth be known...we
have never been to Canton (although I understand the town has some large
market there that happens on a given Monday)...maybe to the same tune of
Quartzite in Arizona. A rock convention happens there a few times a year
and the town population swells from like 2 to 100,000 overnight. Anyway, we
have commitments on Fri evening and Sat morning but after that we will head
out and try to find our way via Mapquest or Verizon's version of mapquest.
The SUV will be loaded with gingerhaired cherubs and a chubby chihuahua that
has anger issues. I'll refrain from painting "Canton or Bust" on the back
window. If anyone drives past and sees 5 females and one angry dog standing
by the roadside..don't fear stopping...we will have eaten that morning.

I thank you again for the lovely intro...I will look for
the Glaslyn Pavillion to introduce ourselves to you. Just look for the
straw hats...

                  Lisa

                      Re: Glaslyn Introductions

Greetings Lisa, I am Baroness Ceinwen ferch Rhuel (mka:
Melinda Turnage). I was introduced into the SCA in the fall of 1997 and
have been hooked since. It was at my first event that I was introduced to
my adorable husband, Master Airaklee Wolf. I have 2 children who are now
adults and live on their own, so as you can ascertain, Airaklee and I are
also "older" folk. We live in Krum (a small town just outside Denton) and I
work in Carrollton as a Graphic Artist. I enjoy needlework, costuming,
weaving, leather working, painting and scribal arts. I too have made a batch
of mead with the instruction of Lord Duncan (another Glaslyner) and it was
quite fun and tasty.

I look forward to meeting you and your family and
welcome to Ansteorra!

                    In service,
                    Ceinwen~
