Viking Tournament at Steppes Artisan!?The Raven banner of tournament sponsor Jarl HrafnOlafsson will fly under the aegis of Baroness Ekatarina of the Steppes on 15August 2015!?As the finest artisans of the kingdom vie for thetitle of the 28th Artisan of the Steppes, the fighters of thekingdom are invited to honor their efforts in a display of martial skill.?Viking Tournament Rules?The format will be a standard 2 out of 3, singleelimination tournament. However the arms and armor in this tournament will berestricted to those used in the Viking Age (793?1066) within SCA conventions. ?Weapons will be limited to the following:???????Sver?? (Single-handedsword)????????x? (Handaxe)???????Brei?-?x?(Dane Axe)???????H?ggspj?t? (short hewing spear)???????Atgeir?(halberd)???????Seax?(long knife)?Shields will be limited to the following ???????Center-grip round???????Center-grip oval???????Center-grip kite?Armor is encouraged (but not required) to be asclose to as possible as what was wor
