First and foremost, because it is a lot of fun! Tied for first and foremost, is the honor of becoming the 28th Artisan of the Steppes, to serve Her Oaken Excellency Ekatarina as a Champion in Her Court.
If you want informed feedback and encouragement, this is the place to get it. As an entrant, _you_ are the Main Event. The Barony comes to you (along with a good chunk of the kingdom) to learn about what inspires you.
If you are a Youth artisan and want a place to compete, or to display your work, and get informed feedback and encouragement, you are not only welcomed by Her Excellency, she most heartily wishes you to enter!
If your body of work includes or comes from a partnership or a community of artisans laboring in harmony together (spinners and weavers, singer and accompanist, you get the idea), Artisan of the Steppes is a competition where your Group work is both invited and welcome!
If competition is not appealing to you, you are invited to display your body of work.
Her Excellency knows the effort and time entrants in Artisan of the Steppes put into their display both before and during a long day. To that end, there will be a free breakfast served to the entrants before it is offered to the general population.
There will be a lunch break this year, where the entrants will eat first, while their tables are watched by the Entrant Concierge Team.
Yes, there is a Concierge Team for the entrants, to watch your table for that bathroom run, to bring you a glass of water, to help you tote that barge and lift that bail, and to guard your table while you are away during lunch.
Registration for entrants to Artisan of the Steppes has been extended to 12 August 2015. Please consider becoming a part of this proud tradition!
