<div>It is with breaking heart that I pass on this sad news from the
Principality of Tir Righ, Kingdom of An Tir.<br>
<br>
Viscountess Amanda Kendal of Westmorland (Lion of An Tir, Mistress of the
Pelican and Laurel), passed away approximately midnight Pacific Time<br>
Sunday am. Her passing was exactly one day after the 8th anniversary of
the death of her most beloved husband, Master Gerhard Kendal of<br>
Westmorland, Lion of An Tir. She was surrounded by those she loved from
both far and near. Amanda and Gerhard were the longest-serving Baron and<br>
Baroness in the entire SCA, as founding Baron and Baroness of Lion's Gate
(Vancouver) - Jun 8, 1976 (AS XI) through Sep 7, 2002 (AS XXXVII). Their<br>
impact on not only An Tir, but the entire SCA, was profound and wonderful.<br>
There are many lovely pictures of Amanda and Gerhard on the Facebook page
set up and maintained by her daughter, Countess Melissa<br>

Kendal).<br>

I almost made it. I write these sad words mere hours before my flight
leaves from Syracuse NY for Seatac (Seattle) airport, for I was to visit<br>
her on the 22nd. Gerhard, Amanda and I had been friends for over 35 years.<br>
<br>
I rejoice that two of the most awesome people this organization has ever
been privileged to know, are now reunited again for Christmas. I however,<br>
am bereft.<br>
<br>
