HNW - Portuguese/Arraiolos or needleworked rugs

Greetings all. Please excuse the duplication as I've posted this same
question to other lists.

I am looking to connect with other folks who do needleworked rugs,
especially if you do the Arraiolos or Portguese needleworked rug
technique. I am desperately trying to document these earlier than the
1620 earliest extant rug example that I've found. However, if I will
also be happy if I can trace a tradition of these rugs.

My documentation so far is the Patricia Stone book "Portuguese
Needleworked Rugs", Fernando Baptista de Oliveira's Historia e tecnica
dos tapetes de Arraiolos (even if I can't read Portuguese yet) and the
TI article by Elizabeth Bennett on European needleworked rugs (I don't
have the exact citation here at work).

Any help would be appreciated.
