Just a friendly reminder to everyone that this list is not exclusively SCA.  Therefore, please
don't use the generic term "period" - please state the period you're discussing.  Use of a
broad historical term such as SCA-period, American Civil War era, Victorian, Renaissance, etc.
is fine.  It helps narrow down thousands of years of needlework.
