HNW - Longevity of Blackwork

My first blackwork - a yoke and cuffs for a square-necked chemise,
cotton on cotton - are still in use after
nearly 20 years, though they now grace their third (and ready for a fourth)
chemise.
Echoing Ianthe, the best advice of all for wearable blackwork is
test-test-test before you launch the project.
Beautiful materials, but too fragile for much handling and
laundering? Use those for the display pieces. Everything pass your
toughest abuse tests? Wear it and show off a bit! <G>

Liadain,
just waiting for cooler evenings to get back to counting and
squinting...
