HNW - beeswax?

...and then there was the good friend of mine who left the bag 
containing her blackwork, needles, thread *and* lump of beeswax in 
the car on a hot day...

What she wound up having to do was to iron out (over paper towels) as 
much of the wax as she could, then finish the embroidery, before 
trying to remove the wax. This was not fun, but she couldn't remove 
the wax first because she had marked the design outlines with a 
water-disappearing blue pen, and washing or cleaning the fabric would 
have removed the outlines.
