I meant to look this up last night and post some examples (you know, with actual names and dates for pieces and not off the top of my head..), but I fell asleep on the couch. I'll try to post something later this week. Sorry, but this is a busy week for me.

In the time-period between the Bayeaux Embroidery and the Jacobean  
Crewel, how often was wool used as the stitching fiber?  (or even n  
either side of those two predominantly wool techniques/styles)
