[HNW] need needlepoint advice/help

I'm about to start a needlepoint/tapestry project. I will be working this on 
size 10 mesh canvas-- which I haven't used in quite a while. I will be using 
Paternayan tapestry wool.

Should I use all 3 strands, or 2? I tend to "work tight" -- which I am going 
to try not to do! A preliminary test showed me that 2 strands will work OK.

I tried Googling "needlepoint FAQ" and found answers to just about 
everything but this. Help!
