[HNW] Faces in basketweave

  Hi everyone :-)

  I was intrigued by Jane of ChillyHollowPoint's entry in her blog

where she says "First of all, nothing does faces like basketweave......."

Now she is a modern canvas worker, working on a modern piece.

I know basketweave was used back in the 16th/17thC, but was it used for 
faces? For stuffed faces in stumpwork?
