[Hellsgate] Hellsgate Digest, Vol 22, Issue 35

I want to Thank everyone that was at social tonight for the warm reception.
I myself enjoyed it immensely, despite not being at my best. Unfortunately
the same could not be said for Sean. Long story short he expressed to me
(bluntly and colorfully) that he does not feel that this is an avenue that
our family is able to pursue. He feels overwhelmed and as out of place as a
scarlet jay among the crows. I tried to reassure him that he would be fine,
that he would fit in well and that the whole point was to have a good time,
but he stressed over to much that I think he fell over his feet.

It is with great reluctance, that I withdraw both myself and my family from
SCA activities for the time being. As much as I want to, I dont want Sean
being left out (because that idea bothered him a great deal as well.), but
if he isnt comfortable, I dont want to drag him to events and being
uncomfortable in a crowd.  Again I apologize that I will be unable to
attend any activity events. Thanks again for the warm welcome. I feel that
this group is going to do well in the future. Good luck.
