Start simply. Look up the German (old or new) words for commonly used items like 'sword', 'helmet', 'shield', 'bottle', 'mead', etc. Throw a couple of greetings and you're on your way. 


Look up free German lessons online. Rosetta Stone sounds like a great product, but are you actually wanting to become fluent?

A German accent tape might be a good investment.

So I am thinking of ways to enrich my personna. Ive got material lord Eric and Lady Alexandra are going to help me with for more accurate garb for me. Thinking about the rosetta stone program for learning German. Just not enthused with the price tag lol. normally 700 now on sale for just 399 yikes
