Maistresse Perronnelle Charrette will teach a workshop on Italian
Renaissance dancing in Bryn Gwlad (Austin, TX) on Saturday, May 4,
from noon to 6 P. M. at the Wells Branch Recreation Center. (May 4 is
also Coastal Grand Baronials, unfortunately, but that's how the
scheduling worked.)

Attendees should have some previous dance experience, but it need not
be in Italian dance. She writes, "My thinking is to teach 'dancing'
rather than 'dances'. One day is really not sufficient for learning
both steps and choreographies and students are aren't likely to come
away knowing the dances cold. I'll be happy if they can do some
version of the steps without having to think too hard; the dances
become a vehicle for teaching the steps. I'll provide handouts so
students can continue to learn the dances on their own."

Medieval clothing is recommended, but nobody will think twice if you
wear modern clothes. Feel free to bring delectables to snack on as we
go. People will probably go to dinner together afterwards.

The Wells Branch Municipal Utility District Recreation Center is at
3000 Shoreline Dr, on the north side of Austin, Texas.

I'd like a rough idea of the attendance, so if you might attend or for
more information, please e-mail me at tmcd at panix.com. Questions or
requests are certainly welcome.
