[Hellsgate] Fight for the Feast

Everyone
Please slow your roll for just a minute. First I love the idea of having a unoficial event on a weekend to suport the hungry and increase our exposure.

Secondly the tiny tourney quarterly is to boost attendance at social/fighter practice. This is not suposed to be a themed activity. We have not even completed one year, this should not be tampered with.

Third the group gets a free page in the Black Star for our event. I would recomend we use it for our oficial scheduled event, for with out a Black Star add we can not have official business. There for either way we would pay for an add either now or later. The most effective means of advertising is the several free Internet options we have available. Spending money for an add not a good idea.

Fourth bolstering practice for our fighters is not about quantity but quality. We need higher level fighters to increase the skill base within the group. Win we have lots of newer fighters those of us with experience spend alot of time coaching. This is fun, but does cause a decline in skill and peformance of the more experienced fighters.

In service to Hellsgate
and the dream

The Point of the TT is to garner more practice for our fighters, however
once every three months is not going to bolster practice much. We can
not count on outside groups to bolster our weekly practice. We need more local fighters to bolster local practice. To do that we need to draw
attention to get as much reach as possible in order to put us in front of a large an audience as possible to recruit from.

If we can recruit we can bolster practice every week.So if we can get a bigger turnout on a weekend I don't see how that practice would be less effective than onThursday

Subject: [Hellsgate] Fight for the Feast

Greetings to the list,

Tomorrow is populace, and I know that our Baron and Baroness will be down to fill us in on the time line of events proceeding their stepping down. I too have a bit of business to put out and would like to take this moment to try and get some of it out for consideration so it may take less time in the meeting.

A week or so ago I said I would like to Autocrat the next Tiny Tourney, here then is my thought.

I would Like to do it in lieu of the second Saturday practice in November. My reason is people are more apt to travel from greater distances on a weekend than on a weekday just having got off from work. The closest event that weekend is in Houston and we would be having the practice anyway.

I would like to call it "Fight for the Feast" the idea being the cost to enter the lyst, or to watch is either a non perishable food item, or any monetary donation. Harker Heights Food Care Center accepts both kinds of donations and prefers money as they have an agreement where they can buy food for 15-20 cents a pound. They should be willing to have someone on hand to collect all donations so that we don't have to count money or cans of food.

The City of Harker Heights may be willing to donate the use of either the pavilion or the Amphitheatre. We would need to fill out the normal registration and submit a written request for donation of the service and why we are asking for it for them to consider it.

If this is approved, I will put it out all over facebook and on the mailing list for invites to attend.

I welcome any input and questions you may have.

YIS,
Stephan
