Greetings --

What follows are the _unofficial_ results of the February College of
Heralds meeting. Please note that my decisions are not final and official
until they appear in the Gazette.

1) Aldric de Kerr
Device – forwarded to Laurel with the blazon changed to "Per pale
embattled Or and gules, a sword and in pale three mullets of six points
counterchanged."

2) Caron Caleb
Device – forwarded to Laurel as submitted.

3) Eoghainn Gill’erne
Name – returned for lack of documentation for the use of "Herne" as an
element in a Gaelic name and for the construction of this type of byname
using a non-Christian deity.
Device – returned for redrawing. The nebules on the fess need to be fewer
and larger.
Badge – returned for unidentifiability. RfS VIII.2 states that "elements
must be used in a design so as to preserve their individual
identifiability." Since no one in the College could identify these charges
without reading the blazon, the badge must be returned.

4) Gerard MacEanruig
Badge – returned for using fieldlessness as a tincture. Fieldlessness is
not a tincture but simply indicates the lack of any field. In addition,
RfS VIII.5 states that fieldless badges "may not use charges that rely on
the edge of the field…to cut off their ends, such as ordinaries" so any
attempt to reblazon the bottom half of the badge as a pile inverted will
run afoul of this rule.

5) Isaac Bane
Name – forwarded to Laurel as submitted.

6) Margaret Fletcher
Name – forwarded to Laurel as submitted.

7) Ottavio Todisco
Name – forwarded to Laurel after dropping the unnecessary accent.
Device – forwarded to Laurel with the blazon changed to "Sable, three
flute palewise argent."
