Greetings--

Below is a letter I received from Countess Anora, the Minister
of Children, asking for help with the two badges the kingdom returned
last month (see the July Gazette for emblazons).

The office badge was "Or, on an Ansteorran mullet sable a
sinister hand or, a bordure sable" and was returned for conflict. My
suggestions on it were to make the hand argent and draw the bordure
wider. The defender badge was "Per chevron Or and gules, issuant from
the line of division an Ansteorran mullet sable, in chief two swords
in saltire, a bordure sable" and was returned for blurring the
distinction between per chevron and a point pointed. I suggested, at a
minimum, that the gules section be drawn larger, the swords made Or
and placed on the gules, and the bordure drawn wider.

Now, we've been asked for help and we have the opportunity to
make these badges much better. So, if you have some ideas, please let
me know ASAP so I can forward them to Countess Anora.

>What we need are good looking badges: one that represent the children
>and one for the Defender. We are currently using banners with the

>The Rising star is a nice design thus, borrowing from that for the
>Defender sounded good. The badges need to be very simple because often
