web site.  Briefly,

Primary: the charge or group entirely on the field that has
         the most visual and heraldic prominence
Secondary: charge (group(s)) entirely on the field but not primary
Tertiary: charge (groups(s)) entirely on other charge(s)
Overall: charge (group(s)) partly overlying another charge(s)
