Johnston's "Place Names of England and Wales" doesn't have a <Blackoak>, but
I've noticed lately that it isn't extremely thorough.
Reaney & Wilson give us better luck: While there is not <Blackoak>, there
are various spellings of the root word "black," as well as "oak," and seeing
as there is a <Blakhurst> "dweller at the black wooded hill," <Blekelegh>,
<Blakeley>, <Blaklay> "dweller by the black wood," <Blakestok> "dweller at
the black stock," and <Blakethorn> "dweller at the black thorn," a
<Blakeoke> or some such is probably reasonable.
