Resistance to change is also a modern trait in many places...

Leave the cry as it is... As we are not medieval France but a separate 
Kingdom altogether; the cry can be considered a "regional variant" of the 
original language......

Personally I "duck and cover" after crying "Oh-Yay!" a tad early on 
tournament mornings.....
